Orchid Tree Project #3
 Another Stunning Centerpiece or Focal Point for the room This gorgeous burgandy themed orchid tree is a signature tree by Preston Bailey (wedding planner to the stars) and is featured in his books. His books are gorgeous and all of them can be purchased on Amazon.com This particular tree is This tree is etimated at about 5' feet - 5.5" feet tall (estimation based on the proportion to the other, known sized elements on the table). It is being used as a stunning, tall centerpiece and is made of what appears to be two natural, burgandy/brown Manzanita branches placed together and another smaller piece lashed to the upper portion of one of the trees. Hanging from it are pink cymbidium orchids, and dozens of long, flowing ropes of sheer decor leaves. These delicate and gorgeous natural leaves (also available from us in almost any color) hang among glass pot votives (sold on this page of our site) hung by pink ribbon. The leaf garlands are finished on the ends with purple glass grapes as weights. We estimate it to use around 100 orchids and around 500 sheer decor leaves (available on our site, click here). This wedding decor tree is set in a gold painted planter with sheet moss covering the top of the planter. The tree is of course weighted, inside the base. You can adapt these dark, evening or fall colors to something lighter or in whites for a spring or daytime feel. You can also hang crystal octagon prisms instead of glass grapes. You can make the tree stand up by placing it in a planter with rocks around it (rocks placed securely around the trunk). We don't recommend using plaste of paris, since it is not heavy enough to hold tall, heavy (jagged branched and dangerous) trees, cracks and breaks easily and far more importantly plaster of paris causes cancer according to it's own packaging. For this reason, we refuse to even touch Plaster of Paris when potting our own trees which we manufacture. Decor is not worth risking your health. Easy Vase Tree with Hanger Vases Project #5  An easy Centerpiece Tree like this one seen in Grace Ormonde Wedding Style magazine, can be adapted with crystals, leaves, butterflies, etc. to your own special look for all the guest or buffet tables, or create a slightly different look for each table. Hanging from the tree from clear (nearly invisible) monofilament chord are test-tube hanger vases wrapped with tiny beads (test-tubes available on our hanger-vases page; click here). Test tube hanger vases are filled with white orchids. Since the branches are smaller (we think around 2' - 2.5' feet tall) and there is no heavy crystal, the crushed glass and vase provide sufficient weight for the tree. Adapt this type tree to your tastes, with or without hanger-vases, add some leaves, vines or perhaps fairytale butterflies or use our White Surreal Manzanita branches without flowers for a winter-wonderland look. The Surreal Manzanita branches are great for event planners since they don't break like natural manzanita and the white ones, especially create a dreamy, fairytale look. If you are going to make a crytals or orchid tree using our Surreal Manzanitas or other artificial manzanitas, you may have to hang them with fewer crystal ropes since they cannot hold the same amount of weight as a real manzanita tree. They can however, hold some crystal ropes and an abundance of loose Swarovski Lead Free crystal prisms because the tree will not have enough weight to support it if it's only in a vase. You can hang quite a few ropes, but certainly not like the Famous Crystal Tree seen in project #1. |
